Campus Facilitator - Richmond Hill, ON

Based in Richmond Hill and reporting to the Campus Director, the Facilitator is responsible for guiding students in their learning activities.

Our students are typically adults seeking to re-enter the job market or, in some cases, enter the job market for the first time. Our Facilitators are passionate about helping others achieve their educational and employment goals.

As a Facilitator, you will be expected to perform the following primary functions:

  1. Provide instruction and guidance to students on the use of our unique self-paced courses
  2. Become familiar with our courses - you are not an instructor, but you need to develop an understanding of course content in order to assist others learn that content themselves
  3. Administer several computer systems, such as book ordering, student data entry, and report generation
  4. Create a positive learning atmosphere for our students - you are a brand ambassador, not only for Academy of Learning College, but also for learning and professionalism in general
  5. Various administrative tasks, such as communicating with vendors, drafting documents, etc.
  6. Other duties as assigned, including short term project work as required

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this position are:

  1. Student satisfaction scores
  2. Student completion rates
  3. Timeliness of report generation and tracking
  4. Updating course support qualifications and completion of internal training sessions

Required skills and experience

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  1. A University Degree or College Diploma from a recognized Canadian institution (international qualifications may be considered equivalent)
  2. Keyboard typing speed of 50 wpm or greater (proof of typing speed is required)
  3. Excellent customer service skills
  4. Experience with payroll and accounting, including certain accounting software systems
  5. Willingness to learn new things!

Desired skills

For applicants who meet the required skills listed above, the following would be considered an asset:

  1. Experience working in a Private Career College or other adult education environment, preferably as a teaching assistant or facilitator
  2. Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite of software (esp. Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  3. Ability to write, generate, and interpret reports
