Dreamweaver 1 Course Introduction
Dreamweaver 1 helps students develop practical skills for the HTML editor of choice for professional Web designers. Dreamweaver combines a host of Web design tools in one easy-to-use application. Without any advanced HTML knowledge, students learn to design sites by creating advanced layouts using CSS to manipulating colors, typography, and page layout.
Course Prerequisite(s)
Adobe Photoshop (PHTSCS3E1) or equivalent experience.
Course Aim
To provide the student with a thorough understanding on how to build Web sites using Dreamweaver design tool.

Those interested in pursuing a career in graphic or Web design.
Course Notes
A Student Guide is provided for this course. Evaluation is based solely on an Academy of Learning College final exam. Participants who receive 75% or higher on their exam will receive a certificate.
Dreamweaver 1 Course Breakdown
Lesson 1:
Introduction to Dreamweaver’s flexible toolkit; Customizing, creating, and saving an HTML page; Defining a site and making it talk to your Web server; How to manage files; Explore how HTML and CSS codes are generated in Dreamweaver’s WYSIWYG interface; Learn how to use Properties Inspector
Lesson 2:
Key Web technology; Cascading Style Sheets (CSS); Learn to create internal and external style sheets using Dreamweaver’s CSS Styles panel
Lesson 3:
Look at a “best practice” table design on the Web; Learn to create tables, add content, adjust and nest tables; Explore design options
Lesson 4:
Introduction to CSS positioning
Lesson 5:
Focus on absolutely positioning elements and layout using CSS, also explore fixed and static positioning
Lesson 6:
Taking the mystery out of frames; Learn how framed sites are constructed and what some of their downsides are; how to add Adobe Flash content and DHTML behaviors; troubleshooting tips
