Microsoft Windows Vista – Level 1 Courses
Microsoft Windows Vista Course Introduction
Windows Vista Level 1 course provides an overview and introduction to the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system (Business Edition).
Students will learn the basic concepts and most commonly used features and functions of Windows Vista. Students will learn the fundamentals of the Windows Vista operating system along with how to manage session and user accounts, navigate the Desktop and manipulate windows. They will learn how to configure Windows Internet Explorer, manage security and privacy settings and apply techniques for browsing Web sites and managing Internet files.
Students will also learn how to personalize the Windows Vista environment and examine the methods of updating and protecting a computer. In addition, students will explore techniques for working with drives, folders, and files and learn to install and uninstall programs, including software updates.
This course consists of six lessons, and an Exam Preparation Exercise. The Exam Preparation Exercise is designed to prepare the student for the final exam.
Course Prerequisite(s)
Introduction to Personal Computers course, or a general knowledge of computers.
Course Aim
This introductory course is designed to acquaint students with the fundamentals of Windows Vista.
Of Interest to
Those who have knowledge of an earlier version of Windows operating system and wish to upgrade to Windows Vista, or who have never used a Windows operating system.

Keeping Windows Vista Up-to-Date, Using the Windows Security Center, Using BitLocker Drive Encryption
Lesson 5:
Using Windows Explorer, Managing Folders and Files, Searching for Folders and Files

Installing and Uninstalling Programs, Working with Accessory Programs

There is a final exam upon completion of the course. Participants who receive 75% or higher on their exam will receive a certificate.
