Course Introduction

This course covers inspection of interior water supply and distribution systems (including fixtures and faucets), as well as water heating equipment and drain/vent/waste systems and their related fixtures in residential dwellings. The student develops an understanding of how plumbing systems work, identify common components that make up supply and waste plumbing systems, water heaters, plumbing fixtures and faucets, as well as understand local plumbing codes. The student also develops an understanding of water heaters, their components (and functions), problems associated with them, and how to identify the problems. The student learns how to identify problems associated with drain, waste, vent plumbing, septic tanks, and perform proper inspection of these. Identifying plumbing fixtures, and their failures, or non-performance in these are also covered in this course.

Course Notes

Course manual provided for on-going reference. There is a final exam upon completion of the course. Participants who receive 75% or higher on their exam will receive a certificate.
