Plumbing Inspection Course Introduction
This course covers inspection of interior water supply and distribution systems (including fixtures and faucets), as well as water heating equipment and drain/vent/waste systems and their related fixtures in residential dwellings. The student gets an understanding of how plumbing systems work, identify common components that make up supply and waste plumbing systems, water heaters, plumbing fixtures and faucets, as well as understand local plumbing codes. The student also gets an understanding of water heaters, their components (and functions), problems associated with them, and how to identify the problems. The student learns how to identify problems associated with drain, waste, vent plumbing, septic tanks, and perform proper inspection of these. Identifying plumbing fixtures, and their failures, or non-performance in these are also covered in this course.

Course Aim
To familiarize the student with procedures involved in performing inspection of plumbing in residential establishments.
Of Interest to
Individuals interested in pursuing a career as home inspectors, in a home inspection firm, starting their own home inspection business, or owning a franchise, and furthering their knowledge of residential plumbing inspection.
Course Notes
Students receive resource material for this course. There are four tests to evaluate student progress. Participants who receive 75% or higher overall will receive a certificate.
Method of Delivery
Learning supported by a qualified off-site instructor; students are provided with course content that includes all of the required courseware, and are supported by a live technical instructor during regular business hours. Students have access to an instructor via e-mail outside of regular business hours.
