Communication and Professional Practice Course Introduction
This course is for the student who is just getting ready to launch his/her own company and is looking for sound approaches to grow the business. In this course the student will get an understanding of marketing for a home inspection business, and the importance of developing a company identity with a market focus. The student will understand what good customer service skills are, and how to handle complaints. The student will also learn the principles of a marketing plan, and new market directions. The course touches upon advertising, public relations, and sales; managing customers, and building effective relationships with them are also covered in this course.

Course Aim
To familiarize the student with proper communication skills, and necessary reporting requirements of the home inspection industry.
Of Interest to
Individuals interested in pursuing a career as home inspectors, in a home inspection firm, starting their own home inspection business, or owning a franchise, and furthering their knowledge of communication in the home inspection industry.
Course Notes
Students receive resource material for this course. There are two tests to evaluate student progress. Participants who receive 75% or higher overall will receive a certificate.
Method of Delivery
Learning supported by a qualified off-site instructor; students are provided with course content that includes all of the required courseware, and are supported by a live technical instructor during regular business hours. Students have access to an instructor via e-mail outside of regular business hours.
