Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Implementation and Maintenance
This course provides students with the knowledge
and skills to implement and maintain a Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 database. The course focuses on
teaching individuals how to use SQL Server 2005
product features and tools related to implementing
and maintaining a database. Tasks might include
creating databases, creating data types and tables,
creating functions, implementing managed database
objects, using transactions and the SQL Server
locking mechanisms, building a messaging-based
solution with Service Broker, planning for and
installing SQL Server 2005, managing databases and files, implementing a backup and restore strategy, monitoring SQL Server performance and activity.
Course Prerequisite(s)
Students should have basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality, working knowledge of Transact-SQL, working knowledge of relational databases, and some experience with database design.
