Academy of Learning has mapped its IT training programs to the job skills demanded in three major IT areas:

PC Technology professionals work with computer hardware, operating systems and peripherals, holding job titles such as Enterprise Technician, Field Service Technician, and PC Technician.  Their duties typically include installing, building and upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing, and preventative maintenance.

The Network Services and Operations category includes all jobs that involve the building, support and maintenance of networks. Their duties incorporate design, configuration, administration and change. Typical job titles in this area are Network Administrator, Network Analyst and Network Support Technician.

The Development field includes three major areas: Web Development, Database Development and Application Development. Web Development professionals have       titles such as E-Commerce Specialist, E-Business Specialist, and Internet Site   Designer. Their essential functions include creating Web content, and development         of electronic commerce infrastructure. Database Developers routinely perform such activities as database system development, data warehousing and data mining.          Their titles include Database Analyst and Database Technician. Application       Developers have titles such as Programmer, Software Application Specialist,               and Software Architect. Their jobs involve the creation of software and/or applications and their associated technologies (e.g. Java, Visual Basic, C++).
