HOW
DO I DECIDE WHICH CAREER IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Academy of Learning has introduced several new programs to
complement its well established business-oriented diplomas and
certificates. These choices give students a wide variety of
options for their future career. Students should determine
where their aptitudes and capabilities are and then meet with a
college representative to discuss alternative program options.
Students can then select the field that will satisfy their
interests and allow them to achieve their personal goals.
HOW OFTEN DO PROGRAMS START?
Enrolment for any traditional Academy Integrated Learning™
System program is continuous, which means that individual
courses
start every day. This allows students to begin their studies
immediately. Selected specialized programs such as Medical
Office Assistant (MOA) and Pharmacy
Technician do have established start dates due to classroom set-ups
for lecturing purposes. Start dates are woven into students'
schedules to maximize the efficient use of their time and combine
the classroom with the more independent Academy method of instruction.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY COURSES?
Courses may be paid for on an individual basis or by pre-payment
of the total amount of the selected program. Federal and Provincial
financial assistance in the form of student loans and grants may
be available to qualified students to help with the cost of tuition.
WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
Admission requirements include a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
or Mature student status. In addition, a satisfactory command
of the English language and the ability to work with the Integrated
Learning™ System are necessary. Additional requirements
may also be necessary for certain specialized programs. All applicants
must attend an initial interview process and receive a positive
recommendation from the College Director. Foreign students who are not
Canadian citizens or permanent residents must obtain a Study Permit
with their Visitor Visa from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
I WORK PART-TIME. ARE THE COURSE
HOURS FLEXIBLE?
Academy of Learning’s Integrated Learning™ System gives students the freedom to customize their schedules to
suit other factors in their lives. Flex-time scheduling allows
each individual to choose the most convenient times to learn,
including weekdays, evenings and Saturdays, subject to workstation
availability and college hours of operation. Selected specialized
diploma programs do have set hours for a certain portion of the
program, which are instructor-led. This means that some course
hours are fixed. College representatives can provide you with more
information on these programs.
