The objective of the Teacher Assistant program is to provide students with the skills and confidence needed to pursue paraprofessional employment within the field of education.

Participants of this program will partake in an in-depth exploration of various exceptionalities, learning strategies, behaviour management and communication techniques, and personal and assistive care.

Admission Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent or Mature Student status. Certain applicants may be required to participate in proficiency testing and/or academic upgrading as a condition of acceptance to this program. Applicants are advised they will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check before entering the practicum experience component of the program. A Criminal Record Check will also be required for employment.
