Communicating with the Learner (Teacher Assistant)
The attributes of effective and ineffective verbal and non-verbal communication will be examined in this module. It will examine how verbal and non-verbal communication can affect the learner. Students will learn strategies for effective listening in the classroom. It will examine and implement a variety of techniques for communicating with students with disabilities. Trainees will learn and create methods of developing empathy with colleagues and students as well as have a working knowledge of appropriate means of home-school communication.
