Children With Exceptionalities
This module will cover a variety of definitions used in the field of special education. Students will learn how to recognize and evaluate risk factors as well as examine the characteristics of children with Behavioural Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Disorders, Intellectual Disorders, Neurological Disabilities, Sensory Impairments, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Childhood Psychoses, Special Health Care Needs and Children who are Gifted. Intervention strategies for these exceptionalities will also be examined.
